Susan Borofsky celebrates her Jewish roots with 2 new CDs
Chanteuse Susan Borofsky is delighted to release two new CDs, “From Shtetl to Standards: The Art of Jewish Song,” and “Jewish Songs of Renewal.”
A well-loved and highly respected songbird on the New York City cabaret and European concert scene, renowned for her rich, gorgeous, subtly colored vocals and immaculate phrasing, Borofsky was stunned into silence when the 9/11 attacks hit home. She took several years off to process the attack on her beloved city and its effect on a loved one.
Now she is back, with a celebration of the beautiful and profound musical heritage of her Jewish roots.
The first CD, “From Shtetl to Standards: The Art of Jewish Song,” elevates and celebrates some of the buoyant, rich songs of Broadway and Yiddish theater, as penned by some of the most talented of Jewish songwriters.

In the second CD, “Jewish Songs of Renewal,” Borofsky creates a remarkable gift for those who cherish the beautiful and enduring songs of Judaism—traditional Jewish folk songs, songs of profound faith, and songs that describe the poignancy of cherishing a homeland that is always vulnerable.
Borofsky's warm, agile voice brings these beloved songs into a new realm, enhancing your appreciation of this rich heritage. Each of these exquisitely delivered selections is guaranteed to bring you joy and renew your spirit.
